For transabdominal sampling of amniotic fluid for the prenatal diagnosis (between 15 and 18 weeks of gestation) of genetic defects in the foetus.

Also used for cytogenetic and biochemical examinations.
The careful sharpening of the needle allows easy and atraumatic penetration.
The mandrel has an echo-marked tip for echo-guided insertion and is colour-coded for immediate identification of the needle size.

The cannula is fitted with a sliding stop to determine the depth of needle insertion and a female luer-lock connector for collecting amniotic fluid with the syringe.
