INTROCAN SAFETY 3 W PUR 16G 1.7X50MM-EU
The Introcan Safety 3® safety cannula needle has a membrane placed inside the catheter cone that ensures the system is closed throughout its use. The membrane, which opens only if a connection with a Luer and/or Luer Lock attachment device occurs, has the ability to be multi-activated.
The device is designed for:
- minimize the risk of accidental puncture due to a passive safety system to protect the needle
- have greater catheter stability due to a design specifically designed to reduce movement within the vessel
- ensure closure of the system by preventing possible contamination or spillage of blood or medication
Indications:
Introcan Safety 3® is indicated for venous and arterial cannulation , drug infusion, pressure monitoring, transfusions and blood draws. Catheters (14G to 24G) can be used with injectors at a maximum pressure of 325 psi to infuse contrast media (viscous liquids) during diagnostic examinations. Maximum flows are given in the summary table. Use only Luer-Lock type connections in such applications. Introcan Safety 3 ® is also indicated for subcutaneous infusion therapies. The 'needle cannula consists of:
- Triple sharpened posterior-cut needle with atraumatic skin passage due to proper tapering between the needle itself and the catheter
- Catheter made of highly histocompatible, flexible and transparent material to make successful puncture immediately visible. Polyurethane (PUR) cannula, equipped with 4 radiopaque lines that allow visualization of the device during diagnostic examinations, The radiopaque bands embedded in the section to limit roughness on the surface for thrombogenicity containment. Radiopaque band material does not interact with infused drugs and/or blood.
- Catheter lubricated with medical-grade silicone and finished with plasma bands to make insertion smoother
- High flow catheter due to high internal gauges. (See attached table for details)
- Transparent reflux chamber fitted with cap with water-repellent membrane (1.2 microns)
- Elastomeric type membrane / septum, placed inside the catheter cone , multi-activation, which blocks the outflow of blood during the use of the device.
- Luer Lock terminal attachment and color-coded catheter cone for each Gauge.
- Equipped with large, flexible, perforated fins to facilitate device insertion and ensure optimal attachment of the device to the patient's skin. Color-coded according to the color code.
- Equipped with needle-mounted protective device located inside the base of the cannula before the plastic catheter
