ASKINA DRESSIL HEEL - 22X21.6CM
Askina® DresSil Heel is a selective microadherent, tri-layered, polyurethane foam shaped heel dressing that has, on the side in contact with the wound bed, a layer of silicone fitted with numerous holes that promote the passage of exudate. The special structure of the dressing allows the correct adaptation of the dressing at the level of the sacral area, preventing the possible curling of the edges and the infiltration of any effluent. The presence of the polyurethane film edge associated with a medical silicone film equipped with a special architecture of holes that guarantees the atraumatic characteristics typical of the silicone interface, ensures maximum protection of the perilesional skin and excellent adhesiveness even in parts of the body subjected to stress.
Dimensions:
22cm x 21.6cm --> hydroactive surface area of 433cm2
Indications:
Askina® DresSil Heel is indicated for the treatment of moderately exuding lesions of partial or full thickness. 1) Lesion-contact layer: medical silicone film equipped with a special architecture of holes that allow the passage of exudate to the subsequent polyurethane foam layer. The structure of the holes is characterized by a matrix that is repeated throughout the extent of the silicone layer and consists of a central hole of 5 mm diameter surrounded by 6 holes of 3 mm diameter.
2) Intermediate layer: hydrophilic absorbent hydrocellular structure consisting of polyurethane foam. It allows high "vertical" absorption of exudate without release under pressure. It also allows excellent management of the wet environment and eliminates the risks of maceration of the wound edges.
3) Outer layer: polyurethane film impermeable to liquids and bacteria and gas permeable. This allows the tissues to breathe, maintaining the proper moist environment while allowing excess fluids to evaporate.
Instructions for use:
1) Cleanse the wound with a suitable solution (e.g., Prontosan) following normal procedures.
2) Dry the perilesional skin.
3) Place the dressing making sure that 2 to 3 cm of dressing remains beyond the wound margins
4) Remove one of the protective sheets and apply the adhesive side to the wound
5) Adhere the dressing to the lesion by removing the other protective sheet as shown in the diagram below
