Cylinder:
- Uniform and smooth surface absolutely free from open air bubbles or other defects that would compromise the seal
- percentage of extra volume equal to or greater than 10% of the nominal capacity of the syringe
- provided with identifiable retaining ring that prevents unintentional piston release
- graduated scale: precise and visible engraved and/or printed with indelible ink for easy reading of volume, resistant to disinfectants and manipulation to ensure accuracy of drug dosage during withdrawal and administration
- transparent non-toxic plastic cone to allow visibility of liquid and/or blood

Plunger:
- the inner end of the plunger is fitted with a capsule to ensure controlled and constant flowability as well as a perfect seal
