Applied to undamaged skin, it forms a thin impermeable barrier that protects against the irritating and aggressive action of body fluids (urine, faeces) and friction with bed sheets. It is indicated as an adjuvant in the prevention of pressure sores and skin redness caused by diapers in incontinent subjects. It can also be used for lubrication of urethral catheters. Does not contain chlorofluorocarbons.
