Salicylic acid ointment 5%. Indicated for the local treatment of certain forms of eczema, ichthyosis and psoriasis and in the treatment of Tinea Pedis and capitis and also used to treat acne and seborrhoea. It has keratolytic properties because it dissolves the intercellular cementing substance of the stratum corneum - keratolysis also enables the penetration of antifungal drugs.
