Single-patient ampoule of enbucrylate for use with the flap pulled together and not within the wound. HISTOACRYL® provides for holding the wound margins together until healing occurs and has demonstrated bacteriostatic properties, as it is able to seal the wound uniformly immediately after application.
Due to the moisture in the tissue, HISTOACRYL® cures in 20-30 seconds into a solid substance that bonds to the tissue itself. At 3 minutes after application, curing is complete and the surface is no longer adherent. It is absorbed in about 7-10 days to. The antimicrobial barrier remains intact for 7 days.
